Fisher enjoys serving the public as new Aurora city clerk

Devin Fisher is Aurora’s new city clerk. She takes over for Kathie Needham, who retired after 16 years of service as Aurora’s city clerk. Her last day on the job was Friday, Aug. 31.

Circus delights “children of all ages”

The circus was in town on Wed., Sept. 12. When the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus came to Mt. Vernon. They set up their big tent on the grounds behind the MARC and performed two shows for an estimated 705 people.

More than 2,000 attend Ag Field Day

About 2,000 high school agriculture students from 56 area schools attended Ag Field Day at the Southwest Research Center in Mt. Vernon on Thursday, Sept. 13. An additional 200 adults also attended the event.
